KKR listed on the NYSE on July 15, 2010. Prior to that, its business was listed on Euronext Amsterdam since October 1, 2009.

KKR does not issue a Form 1099 to its unitholders. Although KKR & Co. L.P. is publicly traded, it is important to note that KKR is a limited partnership, not a corporation. The units you own in KKR represent a limited partnership interest.
As a partner in a partnership, you are taxed on your allocable share of KKR's income, irrespective of whether cash distributions are made to you.
Although commonly (and mistakenly) referred to as "dividends," cash payments made by KKR to its unitholders are considered partnership distributions under the tax laws of most jurisdictions.
Your allocable share of KKR's income, gain, loss, deduction, credits and cash distributions are reported to you annually on IRS Schedule K-1.

Yes, regardless of how long the holding period, an investor will receive a K-1 reflecting his/her share of income.

KKR intends to make quarterly cash distributions in amounts that in the aggregate are expected to constitute substantially all of the cash earnings of its investment management business and 40% of the net cash proceeds from realized principal investments, in each case in excess of amounts determined by KKR to be necessary or appropriate to provide for the conduct of its business, to make appropriate investments in its business and its investment funds and to comply with applicable law and any of its debt instruments or other obligations. The declaration and payment of any distributions are subject to the discretion of the board of directors of the general partner of KKR & Co. L.P., which may change the distribution policy at any time, and the terms of its limited partnership agreement. There can be no assurance that distributions will be made as intended or at all or that unitholders will receive sufficient distributions to satisfy payment of their tax liabilities as limited partners of KKR & Co.
